The curse inflicted by Apollo after she rejected his advances. Cassandra is a sensitive soul having heightened intuition and gift for perceiving spiritual truths. In the story connected with Helen of Troy, a Greek Spartan taken by Paris in the narrative to his homeland. The story of the Trojan horse is in there also.
In Greek Cassandra means “shining upon man”. Apollo is associated in myth with the divination. Conducted in caves under the influence of sulphur, any fumes in the caves that contribute to cognitive enhancement, change in perspective, the diviner gave utterances. They were usually depicted as females although men did participate in divination practices, as females were typical of the feminine designated creative forces even first thought of the gnostic tradition an emanation of the Barbelo -Monad concept.
Cassandra syndrome, complex, phenomenon, predicament, dilemma, curse. A person whose valid warnings or concerns are disbelieved by others despite clear communication. It has been attributed to neuro diverse relationships and un diagnosed autism between autistic and non autistic individuals or neuro divergent and neuro typical on a hermetic scale of polarity. This terminology is used now rather than abnormal and normal as there is no parameter for what is “normal “in current understanding of brain development. Communication and emotional understanding can be challenging. The general understanding of Cassandra curse is a situation where a person’s valid concerns or emotional realities are consistently dismissed or minimized by a partner, a parent for example when the child sees and feels fairies or subtle energy, child is not allowed to express feelings, or they are shut down with feeble excuses from the parents.

Still laughed at and criticized by many who usually have no body awareness or connectivity to their feelings. Still finding and understanding themselves by external bypassing means. There is a tragic dance, a cyclical misunderstanding of unmet needs that arise when neuro typical and neuro divergent parties struggle to connect. Symptoms include confusion, anger, guilt, low self esteem, loss of self identity, and the mask worn by those experiencing this stress. Struggling to understand why your emotional needs are unmet or misunderstood leaves one frustrated towards the other and feeling guilt for feeling that way. Due to one’s empathy, some gaslight themselves, that is doubt. The stress continues with low self esteem doubting your worth, attractiveness or contribution to the others reaction and non action in meeting those needs. Of society and self. There is loss of identity, feelings of insecurity about one’s self and role in the situation, marriage, work or business environment. The Cassandra complex is a Jungian concept that emphasizes the problematic aspects of such a person, Cassandra. Men also experience this as it is regardless of external gender. The person holds it together all day; then experiences a melt down or emotional dysregulation when in a safer, more comfortable environment. When they can relax as the stimulation is less impacting.
Masking behaviours include not limited to. Each person has their own unique way to re-establish inner harmony. Social exhaustion is part of the toxic dance. Scripted conversations. Mimicking behaviour. Delayed responses. Inconsistent eye contact. Uncharacteristic social behaviour this could apply to anyone in a new environment. Example when travelling to another country and unaware of customs, mores etc. Imposter syndrome, context is key. Overanalyzing social interactions. Recognizing and addressing masking. Masking is rampant in literature, the written word, the spoken word. Tragic. Labels are attached to those experiencing the world in such a state. The world is frightening to them inside and out. The damsel in distress, or stressful emotions be it male or female, has been lauded upon the world for centuries and she knows in her heart space she can save herself, once she recognizes her innate power. Part of this nonsense was the way religion and other cultures have represented and designed and named the feminine and male energies functionality.
The devaluing of another is often seen when literary works, new methodologies, new insights, creative works, new ways of doing things are brought into the world. Anything that is outside of, threatens their model of control is not accepted as pure, authentic or divine.
The value one places upon ones self is the most vital thing here. What is value for one may differ from what others, even family may place upon you. It is not necessarily monetary as many consumer and business models are entrenched and polarized in that aspect, bordering on excessive compulsive greed.

Whatever the mark of success one values is unique to them as each person is unique. The common narrative trap that we are all one, the same that lures one into communities, religious and group dynamics is attractive to many but can be the death of many a unique soul, spirit, person, individual.
