Consciousness itself is luminous. Awakening from the long sleep of ignorance and fear. Involves a return to innocence, opening the heart and mind; a curiosity of the child unbroken, not conditioned by the external consensus of sin, separation from the whole. Winter is considered the season of darkness of the soul journey. We all awake at different times as in Spring time, flowers emerge at different times and it is the season for this transformation. All seasons hold their virtues, value, magic, energy to facilitate one’s inner transformation. Different cultures, belief systems, religiosity, groups, alchemist, sages convey the same concepts. The concept of The Monad, Barbelo, Isle of Paradise. During the release of entrenched stagnant energy from the tailbone, sacrum area as can be viewed as a form of astral travelling. Deeper release is encountering when one enters the darkness, integrating those remaining shadows like travelling through deep space. It is the raising of Lazarus and resurrection of the light called Jesus, christos in Christianity. Here the author is looking through the lens of the Sufi mystic traditions.
In Sufi mysticism Lat a’if are the subtle energy systems in the human body. 7 of many chakras in Hindu tradition. As in kybalion tradition they correspond with the Chakras found in different locations on the earth itself. The Urantia book of earth conveys the chakra ideology as the 7 worlds in the local universe of Havona. The 7 subtle bodies in the human body in Sufi tradition each are associated with a prophet, colour and light emanation. They are stages of personal development.
Adam is equate with the subtle body, Kalab, dark grey. Noah– the soul. Nafs – blue. Abraham – the heart. Qalb – red. Moses – the secret. Sirr – white. David – the spirit. Ruh – yellow. Jesus – the hidden. Khafi – luminous black. Muhammed – the most hidden.
Each light marks a death and resurrection. You die to one level of being and are reborn to another. This is clearly stated in the Urantia book section on life of Jesus. The Black Light marks the final death. It is a death of the ego and all one associates with it at any particular level of conception. Fana lillah in Sufi tradition, annihilation of the ego in god. The light that heals. One’s concept of god has bearing on the experience. The Blackness is the womb of the universe where transformation occurs. The colour of the absolute, the undefined, the infinite potential before manifestation ie: god. In this luminous light all possibilities exist simultaneously as the colour of ta jalli, before it takes any particular form, seen as a colour. The divine- self – disclosure.
Meister Eckhart called it “God is a desert…featureless beyond form” In the 14th Century an anonymous work “The clouds of unknowing ” expressed the darkness is not an absence but a presence too overwhelming for the faculties to grasp. The Tibetan Bardon Thodol expresses it this way ” just before enlightenment consciousness encounters the clear light of the void which appears as luminous blackness.” When all colours merge we see white. When all white light merges only Blackness remains.
Semnani warns ” the black light can shatter unprepared consciousness. It should only be approached with proper guidance and spiritual maturity. There are ways to encounter the Black Light in many cultures, curious individuals or groups can contact Corlunas.Zen@gmail.com for this information not given here. It requires complete surrender of individual existence. It is part of personal rebirth of one’s soul. Many who glimpse the Black Light or abyss in Christianity dogma flee back to a former place of familiarity and assumed safety. The death before death, Kubrawiyya, the annihilation of the illusion of separation and “die before you die ” well known phrase. The separate self dissolves like a shadow when the light becomes to bright. The ego, me, my self cases to exist. Al Ghazadi in “Niche Lights” expresses his experience and Javad Nurbakhsh expresses his in the book Sufism; meaning, knowledge, unity.
Returning from the Black Light, is the second illumination and the entire spectrum of lights re appears seen from the other side of unity. Semnani wrote of the subsistence after annihilation. Everything is transformed that is put into the Black Light.
There is a lot one can learn from fairy tales, myths, animation. The 1980s and 1990s animation characters; Moomins Episode 1 Spring tells a story of the Moomins and the Black hobgoblins hat. A magical hat that transforms whatever is placed in it. The longer anything is exposed to it, the more complete the transformation. Many insightful undertones of the magical experience expressed here in this post. The mystic returns to ordinary consciousness seeing from the perspective of unity. Knowing from whence the colours, energy, information emerged from in the quest, travel, journey experienced.
The Black Light transforms perception permanently. The Kubra called it the light of the essence itself, the light by which all seeing occurs. Henry Corbin expressed “Once you have seen the luminous darkness at heart of reality. You can never again believe in the ultimate reality of separation. Neuroscience discoveries have found that when in complete darkness with zero photons entering the eye; advanced meditators show increased activity in the visual cortex. Literally seeing something in nothing. I know. The Black Light is not hallucination, it is the discovery that consciousness itself is luminous. Darkness within darkness. Rumi “You are the entire ocean in a drop”
